WhatFont for iPhone and iPad

How do I turn it on?

Open the WhatFont app and tap Turn On, then switch on WhatFont. On earlier versions of iOS, open Safari, tap the menu button beside the address bar, choose Manage Extensions, and turn on WhatFont.

How do I use it?

Select some text on a page, tap the menu button beside the address bar (on iPad, the Extensions button), and tap WhatFont. With nothing selected, WhatFont lists the fonts on the page, most used first.

It doesn’t show up in Private Browsing

Private tabs need their own permission. Open the WhatFont app, tap Open Settings, and turn on Allow in Private Browsing.

It says it can’t read this page

Safari keeps extensions out of some pages, like its start page and blank tabs. Open a web page and try again.

A font name is shown in a plain font

WhatFont draws each name in its own font when it can load it. Some sites don’t allow their fonts to be loaded elsewhere, so the name appears in the system font. The details are still right.
